Holly Hanna it's hot outside! Perfect time to try my favorite summer time beverage, the "Witchy Woman". It gets it's name because of its spooky Halloween colors! Take a large glass and fill it to the brim with ice. Pour in half the glass with fresh Orange Juice. Next, splash in about half a cup of cranberry juice, shake till frothy with your handy dandy cocktail shaker. Pour out thru the sifter and top with a splash of Ginger Ale. Looks like a sunset in Autumn yet refreshes like a cool dip in the Atlantic! Try it, I know you will love it.
Next,
Sales, Sales, and more sales abound right now! Old Navy has one of the largest summer clearance section with tons of variety for the entire family. Great buys to pack and send away with your college bound Freshman. Trust me, boys can never have enough cargo shorts and Polo's!
Last but not least,
Remember, now is the best time to enjoy your local Farmers Market. The Mill City Farmers Market is in Minneapolis every Sat. and Sun. morning next to the Guthrie theater in a charming spot that has the best of the city. All this and a gorgeous, happy, family friendly blending of rural charm with local artisans selling their beautiful wares. Don't miss out on the flower stand that sell the most insane bundles of giant Sunflowers, Holly Hocks and Blue belles you have seen. Large bouquets for as little as $5.00. Local food trucks tempt the foodie crowd wile the fragrant backed goods kidnap our willpower. I dare anyone to enter the Market place and not leave with a divine chocolate croissant from one of the chef stalls.

I'm Back !
Sorry it took a year or so! Life and all. So excited to share tips and finds from the Twin Cities that will hopefully make your day a little easier and enjoyable! Been busy with daughter's Graduation and all that that entails. Back to reality! Ain't she cute? Here are the deals for July 5th, 2012
Hard to believe it but Target is already filled to the brim with school supplies. Seriously people, get in there now while the getting is good and purchase those fabulous Justin Bieber folders and notebooks your tweens just have to have. They will be gone before you know it. Really! I have learned the hard way as I scrambled to every Walgreen's I could find to get the last Hello Kitty notebook set available in early August.I also noticed at my favorite Love from Minnesota store in Roseville the cutest book bags with Minnesota printed along one side and a very retro Moose on the other. Reminds me of my Esprit bag adventures in junior high! A bargain for under twenty dollars. They could hold at least several large text books and notebooks as well. They come in several primary colors. My favorite being navy. Very preppy and unexpected.
Also, get your booty to the wonderfully bling filled Bag Lady Boutique on Johnson Street in the very trendy N.E. section of Mpls. This store has it all. It's like walking into a jewel box! You can purchase anything from trendy large watches, scarves in every color and style. Blingy back pocketed jeans that are all the rage among "in" Mommy's in the carpool lane and lovely evening bags to set off even the simplest tank and shorts ensemble. Check it out. You will not be disappointed.Prices are shocking low. Any where from $1.00 to $80.00.
Last, but not least, try this recipe the next time you get bored with your simple chicken salad dinner.
Take one bag of organic mixed greens ( spring mix works great), slice a few juicy, ripe strawberry's, grill five shrimp with an easy spice mixture like salt, pepper and lemon pepper, set shrimp aside, toss greens, berries and two tbs. of any fruity dressing. I prefer Newman's Own Raspberry and Walnut Vinaigrette. Add shrimp on top for beautiful finish. Perfection!
Until next time, Bye Dolls!
